Ihmettelin maatilojen ilmaantumista kartalle, ja nehän on tässä muutoskokoelmassa merkitty place=neighbourhood eli naapurustoiksi. Tagin määritelmän mukaan naapurusto on varattu paljon isommille kokonaisuuksille. Oliko tähän joku tausta-ajatus?

The cities keep track of the parcels and houses separately. In this case, the parcel is Kersantintie 2, no letters. Similarly, Kersantintie 5a and 5b are separate parcels, and their naming reflects that. Parcels are (at least in larger Helsinki area) always named with a number and lowercase letter together. The lettering often results from dividing old parcels. This format can be seen in official city maps as well.

House specific letters on the same parcel are written separately (2 A, 2 B, etc). This same naming convention goes for high-rise entrances as well. addr:unit is how this information is usually tracked.

There is also the special case where a separated parcel has multiple houses. E.g. Rakuunatie has 13a and 13b, with 13a now having multiple buildings. These are, then, Rakuunatie 13a A, Rakuunatie 13a B and Rakuunatie 13a C, with individual apartments designated Rakuunatie 13a A1 etc. It can get quite confusing, but the case of the letter keeps parcel and building data separate.

Of course what's depicted on the ground can be quite confusing. (My father was an architect and was always quick to point out when houses had their entrance numbers in wrong case and such). It's quite difficult to know from the outside which case is which, are the parcels separate and so on. But when there is a kiinteistöosakeyhtiö, it's number for the parcel and capital letter after space for the building, like in this case. The telltale sign for similar cases is often a common map of the houses, something separate parcels would not have (and here can be found at the start of Kersantintie).

Hopefully this clarifies the mess. Further confusion comes when addr:unit is not shown on all maps, luckily default OSM has that.

This change is wrong. The buildings are part of the same parcel Kersantintie 2, and have the letter already included in addr:unit tag. The official number of houses is 2, without the letter, and addr:housenumber should reflect this.

The current maxar imagery if really badly misaligned in the Helsinki region. Please consider this the next time you use it, now most of these edits are completely wrong.

I accidentally put name as key instead of value, I corrected it now as name=Linjasssuo

Also check osm.wiki/Finland, it says paths with both bicycles and foot traffic (kevyen liikenteen väylä) are marked with highway=cycleway + foot=designated, NOT with highway=path

Please post to https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewforum.php?id=15 first to consult the local mappers, before changing everything at a large scale

Näitä kulkureittejä ei kuuluisi merkitä erikseen, sillä alueella on jo multipolygon-tyyppinen highway=pedestrian. Merkitsemiäsi pyöräteitä ei ole maastossa erikseen, joten niitä ei tulisi myöskään merkitä. Aukiot sellaisenaan riittävät.

This changeset encompasses a rather large area. Would it have been possible to do it in parts?

Hey. In Helsinki area it seems to be customary to use highway=path for trails in the woods and highway=footway is used for sidewalks and such. I've changed some of your paths to follow this custom :)

Any reason why these were deleted?

FYI this changeset broke all the bus line relations towards south on Hämeentie, they're fixed now.

Moi, Olisiko tässä kenties sellainen forumilla mainitsemasi edit, joka meni pieleen? Omakotitalojen itse lisäämäni ajotiet "service=driveway", "access=private" ovat muuttuneet pihateiksi.

Oliko tämän massamuutoksen taustalla joku keskustelu? Olisi mielenkiintoista tietää vähän tämän taustoja.
