You are a wealth of knowledge, my friend. Thank you.

I'll look into getting onto the Slack server. I use Slack for my 9-5 so, for me, Slack is a "you're on the clock" trigger. I'll try to get over that mental part and get involved as able. :-)

This was probably the first sidewalk I added. I read over osm.wiki/Sidewalks#Sidewalk_as_separate_way and agonized over which approach to adopt. As a separate way sounded like it would ultimately be more complex, but solve a lot of accessibility issues.

This part caught my eye:

> "A drawback of this approach is that acquiring a name of the associated street in an automated way is challenging. Some mappers therefore add name=* or street:name=* tags copying the name of the street to separately mapped sidewalks. In addition there are more complex proposals of Relation:associatedStreet and Relation:street that allows assigning names to sidewalks. There is no consensus on whether this is necessary, and regional customs differ."

And then I watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w64pLD_bgKk, a presentation on how TriMet did a massive sidewalk project for Portland. They ultimately chose centerline method due to simplicity and the volume of work they had to get done as fast as possible, but conceded that it might introduce some issues in the future (wheelchair access WRT curbs, etc).

I haven't kept up with the sidewalk naming after these edits because I wanted to learn a bit more before I invest too heavily there.

In your opinion, what strikes the better balance? Center-line street or separate way mapping for sidewalks? Are adding the names a worthwhile endeavor, looking forward at routing for use cases like accessibility, especially for those with mobility issues who absolutely rely on accurate walking directions?

Believe I noticed this after the fact (and a few more edits). I cleaned up the area problem I introduced and plunked it down as a point on the area near the entrance. I believe it's a shared building, so it made more sense in the end.

Thank you! Yeah, since this edit I've figured out that major brands/chains have presets and begun favoring those whenever I possibly can.

Thank you for the feedback, and the tip, Glassman! I'll read up on it more and get informed.
