Map data lossPosted by Plutocrat on 15 January 2008 in English (English).
I just returned to Openstreetmap after a couple of weeks absence and I see that a lot of the data I put in is now missing. Many of the roads I entered have been removed although in some cases the points still remain as isolated green dots (in Potlach).
This is quite disappointing. Was there some kind of system crash? Am I doing something wrong? If it continues to happen, then its pointless putting data in here.
Ref. Makati, Manila, Philippines.
More Roadnames. Urdanetta Village, MakatiPosted by Plutocrat on 24 December 2007 in English (English).
Filled out a few more roadnames from maning's GPS trace.
Filling in RoadnamesPosted by Plutocrat on 24 December 2007 in English (English).
Noticed maning had mapped out all the streets in the San Antonio Village area, so I started filling in the road names. Guess maning has a GPS. I'm don't -- I just use maps / local knowledge to fill out the names.
Discovery Bay, Hong KongPosted by Plutocrat on 24 December 2007 in English (English).
Tried to fill in some roads here, but the Satellite data just isn't available on Yahoo. I'll come back and do this later.
Wonder if there's a way to import data from SVG files -- there's a useful one on Wikipedia of the DB area.
Data not showing up.Posted by Plutocrat on 24 December 2007 in English (English).
Spent a while 5 days ago filling in all the roads in Salcedo Village, Makati, Metro Manila. I was disappointed to see that the edits I made are not in the map yet when I went to show them off to someone.
I guess they have to be approved: what is the process for this? Well anyway I'll wait until Wednesday and see what happens.
