Thanks so much for your helpful feedback and for partially revert changeset/170228832 while keeping the correct edits. I really appreciate that.

Just to clarify ,I am not adding or changing any surface tags, but in this case, the original surface tag was accidentally dropped during the way split for aligning as per the imagery. I’ll be more careful with that in the future and make sure to double-check surface tag consistency and avoid alignment such cases in any upcoming edits.
