It's a bit of a guessing game - generally I've tended to use Bing for geometry and Digitalglobe for the most current man-made features. For the 100 Islands I've been trying to update the coastline to add more detail as some of the islands were very chunky. The main motivation was for appearance rather than for precision, though I've been trying to get them as good as I can given the image variances. As 100 Islands is the major tourist attraction for the municipality I wanted to get them to look better! I was hoping the GPS traces - both existing ones and the ones I gathered in March would help resolve image offsets, they may have contributed, but not with sufficient accuracy to be 100% certain on Island location and hence offsets. This is a best effort. For this particular island there are no GPS traces. Cheers |
