The trail Eerib has a photo of is a hiking trail used to get out to boulder creek. Very nice photos of a nice plateau. This trail is used by trail runners as well. There is zero evidence of mountain bike activity nor trail ‘construction’ in this area ( as shown by Eeribs photos) as there is no where for a bike to go. There are no mountain bike tracks on this trail, as shown by Eeribs photos. No trails come into this area from above. There are only two trails that go down to Boulder Creek.

As for Eeribs last comment, I can’t say anything other than he sounds deluded.

An then he keeps saying vandalism? What’s wrong with this guy.

It’s not vandalism.

I emailed DWG about Eeribs reverting my edits. Isn’t that what the DWG is for? To discuss such things?

I too am a hiker in this area. You don't have the authority to say what trail is publicly shown on this site or not. This trail is very steep and a hazard for people to access. A friend injured themself here and I am attempting to prevent future incidents.

Your irresponsible mapping is getting people injured.

This trail is not on any map of this area so why does it need to be public on Open Street Map.

I also wanted to ask about the history of edits to this trail. In changeset #180834367, you attempted to delete the trail on the basis that it did not exist, although the trail does exist. Later, in changeset #183803084, you indicated that the trail had been abandoned and replaced by a new trail, but the trail has not been abandoned and no replacement trail was constructed. Could you clarify why the rationale for your edits has changed over time and why this is the case?

The trail was covered. Therefor did not exist. On going back I found it had been uncovered. My friend and I hiked it and he got injured. This was probably why the trail was covered in the first place. There is a new trail to the creek that is less hazardous.

His deluded accusation about referring to me as a sock puppet. Whatever that means. His continued changing my edits to make it seem a trail is good for a purpose when it is not.

My understanding of OSM is it’s open source and welcomes edits from people who are familiar with the area.

This trail is unridable. Why do trails that are unridable by bikes have an mtb tag?

Does this mean all hiking trails should have an mtb tag?

If this is your position then ok. But it seems dangerous.

I had a friend read this to help me better understand your issue. I didn’t look at the ericmillan changesets because they have nothing to do with me. I am unfamiliar with that area.

But if I am to understand, you think that if two different people make edits because they disagree with your reasoning for similar reasons that these two different people must be collaborating against you? Have you considered that you may simply be wrong?

99% of the users in this area are not mountain bikers. The trail connecting boulder creek to the bottle top connector is not ridable up or down.

The trail you call under construction is a randomly flagged piece of forest.

I don’t understand why you want to perpetuate misinformation.

I read your forum discussion and don’t see how that applies to these trails.

These are not mountain bike trails.

According to osm wiki

The Trail Difficulty Rating System shall be used for mountain bike trails which are specifically designed and designated for mountain biking, to be found in "Bikeparks", for example.

When was the last time you were there? Weird that you'd want this misinformation. Oh well. I'll just use the new trail.

I looked around for quite awhile. It was quite frustrating. I was hoping the trails on Open Steet Map would be more reliable.

It would have been nice to check out the creek.
