The section of road is privately owned and has a gate to prevent unauthorised vehicle access. It does have public footpath access only. We have many cars approach from Patterdale Road or Ambleside Road and end up having to turn around because of the gate. I wrongly assumed a footpath would be also classed as cycle access.
