Hi Dave,

You have incorrectly amended the route of the Derwent Aqueduct around the Langley Mill, Cromford Road area.

You have altered the route as per old OS maps however I had spent many days mapping the actual route of the pipe in person.

It does not follow this new route.

Yes I made a correction whilst adding postcodes

House deleted in error, changeset reverted

It seems to me a little counter intuitive that for the sake of getting rid of the conflicts on the OSM inspector we prefer to forgo the functionality of being able to route to the location on the map, and in turn make 10 fold the number of conflicts due to the house numbering issue.

You couldn't see it on the map and I believe it was a useful work a around which would benefit end users of OSM

Thanks Bernard, that makes sense for most of the addresses. Its almost as if OSM could do with another address field making it possible to refer to the secondary street name. In some cases doing it the way you suggest it leads to duplicate house numbers on the same street, it will certainly make a lot of conflicts with the numbering.

Out of interest where could you see my added highways were visible? I did some experimentation and they were always hid away beneath the larger existing street. I tried on numerous devices and they were not visible in any way other than within an editor.

Hi Bernard,
I placed that there as a holder for a group of properties that use that street name in the address.
Without it an error is generated as there is a property with a street name that doesn't exist.
I inserted a small piece of highway that sat beneath the existing street, it wasnt visible on the map however you were able to navigate to the location using directions. With it present it also removed the street name errors.
I thought it made more sense to be present as it is totally invisible, helps with navigation and removes the errors

Hi Andy,

Thanks so much for what you have done and also the little pointers in how to use the comment box.

I will get my head around it soon.
