That's a great idea.
Maybe sanctuary: Knights Period? or sanctuary: non gode immunita ecclessias. Because to write dates would require more research rather than seeing the plaque on the church / chapel,

Actually sanctuary is a good translation. What I am not sure of is, if a user sees the tag sanctuary, will he realise that this tag refers to a specific period in history and does no longer apply?

Did not know about this tag search tool, thanks! :)
refugee would not work, because refugee means a person fleeing political persecution. This concept is more like places in which there can absolutely be no violence, even if the violence is necessary to apprehend a criminal.
Gode immunita ecclesias is an archaic practice. It has not been practiced in Malta certainly not after 1798. I am not sure that currently there are places where such a practice is held. I think that in this case using Latin words can be acceptable, much like how we use the word "genus".
How about the tag "gode_immunita_ecclesias" or "immunita_ecclesias"? What do you think?

There was a period in Malta in which fugitives on the run could find refuge in certain chapels and churches without fear of being apprehended by the authorities. This was called immunita ecclesias. Whether a church / chapel could give refuge was a matter of agreement between the Roman Catholic Church and the authorities. If a church / chapel could not give refuge it would have written "Non gode immunita ecclesias". When I tried to document this, the keytag disappeared. That is the reason for the double entry.
Any suggestions how to document this? Thanks.

There is also education tag which appears automatically when the "school grounds" land use is selected. To me this is the most attractive method since there is no need for tags to be searched.

I am not sure whether "invent new tags" refers to the education_level or to college. In Malta government school administrative districts are called colleges, "kulleġġ". We may either use a new tag "kullegg" (rather than the Maltese script kulleġġ) to refer specifically to Malta, or else use "college" as a tag, but college may be confused with the term college as in a tertiary education institution. Otherwise it may be incorporated in the name like Google has done, eg: Kulleġġ Santa Margarita - Skola Primarja Żabbar A. But as you can see, the name would become too long. What do you think is the best course of action?

In Malta government schools are classed by college as primary, middle or secondary.
I was thinking to tag education: primary; middle, secondary etc. What do you think?

As for college, I made another tag "college" rather than adding it to their name. What do you think about this?

Are you aware of a solution for displaying Maltese names in the Maltese script, but able to download then in either Maltese or English script?

How do you check the client? I tried to search online but could not find an answer.

It is imperative that Maltese names are displayed by default.

The problem with the int_name tag is that the English name is displayed instead of the Maltese name. In Malta, Maltese should always take precedence over the English. As the Maltese constitution describes, although both languages are official, only Maltese is the national language.
