Sorry, I don't know what happened, I was editing only some paths in Romania, not the USA. Maybe something went wrong while uploading back to OSM from the ArcGIS Editor...

Concerning your question: our tracks are registered with common GPS devices.

Thanks for your observation. In future edits we will do as you have suggested and pay more attention to not duplicate existing paths. We will fix the segments where we added the mentioned duplicates but in cases where there are more variants on field of the same track, we will keep them.
Concerning the mentioned GPS tracks, they can be freely downloaded one by one from the www.muntii-nostri.ro website. They were registered on field, but corrected and processed in the office, so they miss the timestamp and cannot be uploaded in OSM as GPS traces, only as custom map data layer while editing.
