| 164445335 | 9 months ago | Hi Wannes, Thank you for your response and your understanding of how the road markings impact how things are modeled in OSM. Typically, features in OSM are based on what’s legally indicated through signage and road markings, although in practice, drivers may sometimes make illegal maneuvers. Thanks again, and I hope you have a great day! |
| 164445335 | 9 months ago | Hello wannes-, Thank you for pointing out what your recent survey of the area showed. The reason this was updated is because of the presence of the yellow hashing in the middle of the junction. way/1374313599 is only meant to turn right and head north from that configuration, as it appears to bypass the junction. I understand your point about the lack of separation, as the only separation is paint. However, when considering routing and directionality, this approach seemed like the most logical solution I also wanted to note that you cited Google Maps in your changeset, which is not permissible for use in OSM (osm.wiki/Google). The painted marking configuration is visible in Esri World Imagery, indicating that the imagery is current. Do you have a modeling suggestion of this intersection with the painted markings taken into consideration? I would be interested in your approach to these types of features. Thanks and have a good day! |
