Update: Data working group from OSM wrote this: I have reverted the edits now. It can take a few minutes for the map to update.

Thank you very much for letting me know about this issue. I truly appreciate you bringing it to my attention.

I created a small Python script that was intended only to update the speed limits on ways that were missing this information. However, for some reason I don't yet understand, my script seems to have overwritten data from other users, which has unfortunately created a bit of a mess.

I am currently investigating the problem to find a solution as quickly as possible. Your help and understanding in this matter are greatly appreciated.

I have reported this to data@openstreetmap.org so they can help me revert all my changes since September 5th to ensure it is done safely. However, if you have any better suggestions or know of a more effective way to reverse this, I would be very grateful to hear them and your ideas are more than welcome.
