Thanks; just updated phone numbers for Scubaworld (which I just added) to match this preferred layout.

And then read :
landuse=residential

The take-away I got was that it's up to the mapper and as I said, I figured it to be rather inefficient to duplicate nodes.

But as I said, I'll follow local conventions if there are any.

Hi @nevw, thanks, but I'd done some research and come to the conclusion that that was actually recommended. Let me try to find the articles again, but perhaps I was mistaken.

In either case, if the "local" (Brisbane/QLD/Australia) best practise is not to do so, then I'll undo my work.

Just seemed to me to be rather inefficient to have a large number of almost identical nodes to separate the various areas and roads. It also made the map look rather messy.
