per slack, setting 56 to toll=yes on east bound from galena to 88, and then west bound from 88 to golf view road

Hi Clay!
That signage is correct, but 56 is technically not tolled. The next tolls are IF you get off at Orchard or 31, or if you don't exit, MM 61 (https://www.illinoistollway.com/travel-information/maps click on "toll rates by plaza" for the icons to show). 56 is not tolled heading west. I suppose we could say 'tolled' from galena to 88 as there's no way to escape the toll after passing Galena.

You have changed this area with no regard to local use and local consensus. It's designation as a US route does not automatically mean it is a Primary class. It does not contain most of the physical characteristics for Primary.

that's your solution? instead of collaborating with local mappers on an area you know nothing about, your answer is to tell us to talk to the state?

This particular section of 47 from 88 to 80 completely meets the criteria for a Trunk according to the 2021 Highway Classification Guidance: osm.wiki/United_States/2021_Highway_Classification_Guidance#Trunk

Route 47 is absolutely a trunk. It is the connecting piece between 88, 80, and 56, completing the network. It has divided carriageways, limited access, and supports high speeds. It's hardly different than Kingery which legally has a lower speed limit than 47 in most areas.

I agree with user jcarlson. IL 25's classification should be tertiary as its functional importance is significantly less than nearby roads (IL 31 and Douglas Road). There's also discussion over on the IL Highway wiki regarding this area as well: osm.wiki/Illinois/Highway_Classification

I changed it to primary + expressway, thoughts? I'll add to our wiki: osm.wiki/Illinois/Highway_Classification

hi! the portion of 47 b/w Galena and Cross meets the classification for a trunk: divided carriageway, no/limited access (no cross streets)
