Please indicate what you consider a mistake. I did lots of improvements to those island, including all the landuse areas. So hard for me to know what you consider wrong in what I have done. If you tell me I will be glad to listen. Cheers.

Quelques info ici https://dunnmemorialscoutcamp.wordpress.com/

I think my comment was mistake, I looked back to the changes I have made and you did not touch them. All is good. Sorry for the confusion.

Why did you revert the park boundary edit I had made. I had sources indicating the park was expanded and the two sections mergerd. I had updated the boundary to reflect those references. If I recall they were in the changeset I had made.

Selon le wiki pour le tag ref= Used for reference numbers or codes. Common for roads, highway exits, routes, entrances to big buildings etc.

Sorry the comment is terse. I didn't think there was anything worth review or debate. But if you see any mistake in the edits let me know, I always follow-up on my work and correct it when needed.

The wood will render as wood in green if you make sure the wood area is completely enclosed in the residential area. So you can patch it that way by breaking the large wood area into several adjacent pieces that are either completely within or outside the residential area. I have done it many times. However you are sort of mapping for your tool, which is not any better than mapping for the rendered. The residential tag is meant for residential area (urban), and that area is not really one, it is rural. If you follow the path I first mentiennned above, and maybe add some meadow and grass areas within the residential areas so the map look reasonable, I would be happy enough. you would retain the large residential area for your tool yet render something that make sence. But I wish you would adapt your tool to the OSM standard rather than the other way around. Good luck.

Please reconsider using landuse=residential in Senneville. I don'; t find it representative of this rural area. And how the map looks like it is a built-up area (gray) while it is mostly woods. I know it is prove properties but it is not residential in the OSM sense. If you do it here you could make there entire countryside with residential since it is used for houses for the most part. But it would just be meaningless to do so. I think the residential tag make since for developed areas with small lots and lots of houses in a small space. In Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, sure. Even in Senneville Village it is reasonable. But I don't think it is appropriate to do that north of the A40. At least make sure the natural=wood dominate the area. Since all houses are mapped individually I would just delete the landuse=residential polygons.

Will do next time. The change to those roads was made because there was a few roads that were totally disconnected from the rest, only linked to paths and tracks. I changed those to track to be more consistent. Having disconnected roads make no sense and that was probably the result of past edit. I lack local knowledge to do any better than this. Being a military area there is much online info either.

Typo probably doing a concatenation (merge) with the mouse in the name box. Thanks for reporting I will fix it.

You found anything wrong with the edits ?

117351053 almost 4 years ago

Its a valid question. I asked myself as well. The location of the old coastline I think was much too high and essentially was putting the entirety of those beaches underwater. I am no expert but in general the MHWL line is not that high. It is the wavers, storms and exceptionally high tides that push the vegetation further up and the MHWL should be below that. So I decided to use the other edge of the existing beach polygon but in some places it was clearly too low and I made corrections based on satellite images. Now we have no idea what the tide was when the satellite took the picture but all imagery sources were similar so I went with that. It is no exact science I admit. But I know no better way of doing it. My goad was to make those beautiful beaches visible because they were not at all. I have been to the area before but I am no local expert. If you think the new map is worst than the old please advise I can revert. Thank for the technical fixes. I were to have another look for those today or tomorrow. PS. since this is a coastline change it will take days to render.
