| 81562556 | Hi Dave, I deleted it for the reasons mentioned in the submission comment: landuse=railway isn't appropriate for an entire passenger station area (as per the wiki), and other stations (particularly parkway stations, such as Oxford Parkway) aren't mapped in this way. The land use isn't railway, it's parking, verges, paved areas, grass, etc. The polygon was originally added to demarcate the construction zone for the station, and was tagged accordingly, and then when construction ended I retagged is as commercial rather than construction. But now the station is fully open it needs to be tagged in the same way as other stations, and that polygon wasn't really appropriate any longer. I''m working my way through a series of updates to Worcestershire Parkway, and adding some more appropriate polygons to demarcate the station frontage is part of that. But it's difficult at the moment as it's not yet on the aerial imagery so I'm having to go by my own visits to the station, which is time-consuming. This is a work in progress. Hope that answers your questions. Mark |

| 74103491 | It's certainly not a recreation ground as we would understand the term in the UK - that is, an open area of land, publicly accessible and used for things like sports (eg, football) and other recreational pursuits. In the UK, when showgrounds are not in use for shows they're generally inaccessible to the public and left unused. In some places, they're typically used for grazing. I note that the wiki suggests landuse=recreation_ground with recreation_ground=showground under the country-specitic guidelines for Australia. But that appears to reflect a genuine difference between the Australian concept of a showground and the British concept. I don't think we should be adopting non-UK concepts to tag UK objects that have a different meaning here. Unfortunately, we don't have a landuse=showground tag. But, since it's just plain grass most of the year, landuse=grass is probably the closest. |
