Changeset When Comment

Hi Panchito_de_GDL!

Thanks for mapping! I noticed here (changeset/124069522) that you had removed a lot of residential and service roads. These roads and surrounding houses can still be seen in aerial imagery, including Esri World Imagery, so it appears to me that these roads should still be present in OSM data. I wanted to see if there was a reason you removed them, like some recent construction, for example, related to your changeset comment. If there is a plan to demolish them but they are not yet removed, then I think it would be best to keep the data as it was before, and remove them or change the tags when that does happen. Or, for example, if the roads still exist but are closed, it would be best to add access tags or barriers. If that’s the case, I would be happy to revert the changes. Let me know what you think, or if you have any questions.

Thank you!

¡Hola Panchito_de_GDL!

¡Gracias!

Hi costasa and welcome you to the OSM community! I noticed some of your recent edits aren’t matching up with the public resource you’ve cited and I reverted the following changesets in order to restore pre-existing data:
changeset/103805931/
changeset/103805979/
changeset/103804411/

The following ways that were deleted for example are visible in public resources that are used by the larger OSM community. These are seen in Maxar Premium Imagery, Esri World Imagery, and Bing Aerial Imagery among others, which indicates that they likely do exist and should not have been deleted.
way/834953045 (way/834953045)
way/232538849(https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/232538849)
way/232545520(https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/232545520)

The alignment of the following roads for example do not match with Maxar Premium Imagery, which was cited as a resource in your changesets. I also wasn’t able to find alternative public resources that support these alignment edits. It seems to me that the original modeling of these roads was more accurate.

The roads listed below don’t appear to fit the OpenStreetMap criteria for links. I recommend checking out this wiki page for highway classifications and links, which may be helpful as you start editing: highway=*

way/232494882(https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/232494882)
way/232541155 (way/232541155)

If you haven’t done so already, I also recommend exploring more of the wiki pages which are great additional resources for general editing guidelines in OpenStreetMap (osm.wiki/Pt:Página_principal). https://learnosm.org/pt/ is also a great resource for learning the basics of how to edit in OSM.
