That's an interesting point because it felt natural to me to use it and according to the talk page, many mappers also used "none" to denote non-vehicular access exceptions (and routers probably override the restriction value with a "none" which isn't defined so safe effect).
Still, this very much should spark up some external discussion — which I just did on the talk page.

There is no dedicated page for "except" (though there are reasons for it or at least a subsection on that page) but the page does lists various vehicle modes for this tag only and also mentions "vehicle mode" which implies that exceptions are granted for vehicles (i.e. access as in the key), not for access-values (i.e. access as in the value).

Also, splitting the road up to the next intersections isn't necessary for turn restrictions, it only creates fragmentations.

I've also corrected because "except=*" only applies to vehicles (i.e. vehicle type "private" isn't defined) so you have to use "restriction:conditional=*" and with the type of access and "Anlieger frei" means "destination", not "private".

Nein, auch wenn Carto die Weg nicht rendert, ist das Problem ist immer noch das gleiche: Du hast virtuelle d.h. nicht-existierende Wege eingezeichnet (was gegen der OSM-Regeln ist) anstelle, dass du einfach bus_bay verwendest und du hast zudem meine Frage nicht beantwortet (d.h. warum die Wege überhaupt eintragen).

Wie gesagt: Ich habe die Strecke nur aufgeteilt, weil es wegen den Elementen etwas unübersichtlich wurde.
An dem Verlauf habe (außer einige Kleinigkeiten) an sich nichts geändert, das war schon vor dem Aufspalten so.

name=* oder description=*?

Das war... vergleichsweise kurzfristig.

Zugegebenermaßen kann ich es im Detail nicht überprüfen, weil G-Maps eine ungültige Quelle ist und ich weit weg von Neustadt am Kulm bin aber in allen Fällen ist dies ein highway=service, kein anderer Weg (weder highway=bus_guideway noch busway noch sonst irgendwas), weil der Weg nur zum Parkplatz hinführt.

Über die entsprechenden Tags schaue ich folgendes:
- Bei Zeichen 245 (Bussonderfahrsteifen / Busstraße): vehicle=no; bus=designated
- Bei Zeichen 250 (Verbot aller Fahrzeuge) + 1024-14 (Bus frei): vehicle=no + bus=yes + tourist_bus=yes
- Bei Zeichen 267 (Verbot der Einfahrt) + 1024-14 (Bus frei): Eine Abbiegerelation mit restriction=no_entry + except=bus;tourist_bus erstellen, wenn sie nur einseitig ist, sonst wie mit 250 vorgehen.

Kleine Frage zu way/1319582893: Sicher, dass es sich hier um Busgleise handelt? Für mich sieht eher aus wie ein normaler Zufahrtsweg.

Warum hast du damals die ganzen Überschnipsel fürs ZOB des Hofer Hauptbahnhofs die ganzen highway=service + service=parking_aisle.
Das ist falsch schon alleine dass laut Mapillary an der Stelle keine bauliche Trennung vorliegt und von daher dürfen die "Wege" überhaupt nicht eingetragen werden dürfen (Bushaltebuchten werden i.d.R. mit bus_bay=* eingetragen, was schon damals vor zwei Jahre akzeptiert worden ist).
Selbst wenn, handelt es sich weder um Parkplätze im eigentlichen Sinne (d.h. service=parking_aisle ist an der Stelle irreführend) noch enden diese in einer Sackgasse (d.h. vom Verlauf her müssten die Busse rückwärts fahren aber in Wahrheit biegen sie nur links ab).

Einmal in Hessen und dann nochmal im Saarland? Es geht ja nicht kreuz und Quer durch Deutschland aber wäre es dennoch nicht besser, dies aufzuteilen?

However, implicit access tags get overwritten by excplicit access tags, else "highway=path, motorcycle=yes" (popular in SEA to exclude them for motorcar) wouldn't work.
The real issue is that the mainstream routers don't even KNOW the highway type "busway" i.e. they can't route bicycles over them because it's invisible to them (akin to how Carto doesn't render them), not that they forbid to route bycicles over them with no way to override access tags for whatever reason.

This is a clear example of tagging for broken routers because highway=busway has been defined two years ago and these roads aren't service roads in the classical sense either as per proposal.

busway=designated also is nonsensical, it's currently defined about the existence of bus lanes than tagging the type of road (and feels redundant with too) and doesn't imply any sort of access right now (basically, I see it as a duplicate of "bus=designated" and should IMO be replaced as such).

It certainly is some good food for thought, at least, since busway=designated feels fairly nonsensical (since the intention is to denote bus lanes only) and are supposed to be "bus=designated" or "highway=busway" depending on the context.

Ich habe das bicycle=designated wegen der rechtlichen Situation trotz Zusatzschild wiederhergestellt.

You removed kerbs, though. These at those traffic islands is understandable, though it still makes sense to keep them in case someone goes over them with StreetComplete or somthing (or at the very least, retag them to kerb=no if you know the actual type as the Wiki recommends it because that painted line might look like tactile paving) but the flush kerbs at crossings are still kerbs and should not be removed.

Problem ist, dass das es in OSM nicht gern gesehen wird, weil von denen die Verifizierbarkeit fehlt.

Ich weiß, dass solche Gleise in OSM schon häufiger eingetragen worden sind aber diese wurden vor allem in den Anfangstagen von OSM hinzugefügt, wo der Standard, dass nur gegenwärtige Objekte eingetragen werden soll, nicht existierte.
