The biggest source of useful address data in the UK is the Postal Address File from Royal Mail. However, because of licensing reasons it cannot be used with open street map.

If you know of alternative datasets that might be suitable (e.g. from a local council), please do share it here and you could get more direct help.

For myself, I installed the Streetcomplete app and have been using that to add address point around town manually.
