I would think that it is a fresh water pipeline - but wouldn't argue if someone held a different view

You make a good point. I will take a look. Do you think the pylons were replacements rather than new ones?

I can't, for the live of me, remember - happy for you to revert

Speaking of Southern African English - none of ditch, drain or canal properly captures what a "furrow" is either... nor does a "quarry" with abandoned=yes quite capture "diggings"

Great, thank you. some part of me still thinks that they are all different kinds of landfill, but will be happy to defer.

...and in Africa I don't know that they are ever called "ponds" - Tailings Storage Facilities also doesn't capture coarse coal discard facilities, slag dumps, waste rock dumps or temporary overburden dumps etc. I beginning to understand the problem.

Thank you, I get it. I will happily upgrade the tags on the hundreds of mine "landfills" I have created. And you are right, they are hugely topical for both safety and environmental reasons, which is, in part, my interest. Take a look at the West Rand, west of Johannesburg or north into the DRC Copperbelt for more of the same...

Hi, I don't really disagree and will try and find the specific name in that case. These are significant features on the landscape so to have them not be rendered would be a great pity. In Zim and SA there are hundreds, ranging from rock dumps to slag heaps and coal discard dumps. All are mine waste and are treated in law as the same as landfills are... so I'm not quite sure what you are suggesting I do? Must we just leave African landscapes blank?

My view is diggings and old mines don't go away just because they are no longer active. Happy to mark them as abandoned though. You will notice that that area is very rich geologically - not only mica, but feldspar and emeralds too. Even SA's only mercury mine is in that those parts. All abandoned now, but still visible in the landscape to the educated eye.

Hi Jeff, I use 2 sources - the national dept's map of protected areas and the surveyor- general's 1:50000 maps. Both are far from perfect. Also there are some areas that are legally protected but look nothing like a conventional game reserve. I will take another look at Selati. If you know the area well then I have no problem if you adjust the boundaries.

You are correct - strangely I did not create that, I must have changed the edge of the pre-existing natural feature to a path in error

Brilliant - thank you, and thank you for OSMI - I've been doing daily blocks of corrections and wanted to track progress

Hi Guido, sorry to trouble you - but how long after I correct an error will it no longer show up in your tool?

125731840 over 3 years ago

If you have any tips or tricks to speed up fixing it they will be gratefully received!

Hi Guido, I have been fixing the problems - but you are right there are a massive amount of overlapping ways. I am taking my responsibility seriously, but a I need some time. Thanks for the nudge.

Thanks Guido, will do - newbie error, thanks for pointing it out.
