These changes are incorrect. The leisure=stadium and other applicable tags should be applied to the outer way of the stadium, as set out in the wiki. It was correct before this changeset so I ask that you please revert it.

No problem, all the best with the mapping.
|
Thinking the stadium building and the stadium as an entity are the same is understandable and seemingly a common misinterpretation. I hope you can understand the way I've mapped it, as it applies to much more than just stadiums. If you’re unsure as to why certain tags have been moved in this instance then please say and we can discuss it further. Treating the parking, pedestrian grounds, etc. as part of the stadium area, like you mention, isn’t invalid by any means. These boundaries are usually harder to define than the outer perimeter of the physical stadium building, which might be why it has become the standard.

Think about it some more, it makes sense this way. The way it was tagged previously meant that the Huntington Bank Stadium didn't contain a field/pitch. Which clearly is wrong. If people treat me as a new mapper that’s fine, it doesn’t excuse you from reverting sensible changes literally one minute after commenting on my changeset.

It's laid out on the leisure=stadium wiki page, amongst other places. Many stadiums are correctly tagged this way. I'm not a new mapper.

Not sure why you've reverted this in 161321641 before getting a response, please re-revert.

No tool, it's usually obvious just by looking. The building=stadium tends to be a multipolygon, while the leisure=stadium should be everything, as it includes the inner bits (pitch, etc.). Many stadiums are mapped incorrectly by having the stadium tags on the multipolygon, so I've moved them over. Hope this helps.
