Hi gurgylypipe ! Thank you for your reaction. Mixed/multiple access tagging is rather confusing for automated routing using osm data. Since general access already is 'no' in combination of the state of the comments it seemed not likely to me to 'route' people over this road same as 'via ferrata's' are not used for routing. Also the value discouraged "should" only be used if explicitly signed that way, not because a mapper thinks it is safer. For me no problem to change it back, i did miss the discussiion you mentioned. Hi Dave, thank you for you question, What is the source of your public footpath? Is it ground trouth? Does it really crosses building roofs and golf greens? On july 2025 microsoft streetview images show no such connection or path. It would not be nice if all kinds of routing apps suggest you shortcuts through highways that don't exists.
