Hi all,
I'm currently working on PhD research at Oxford's geography department regarding participatory geographies and specifically open-source mapping organisations.
As I'm really keen to get involved with an OSM project in the next 18 months - 2yrs, I would be grateful to hear of anyone or any project (anywhere in the world) which would not mind having a student tag along with them and to take part. OSM and other such projects have largely escaped academia's attention so far, so I think its time that the importance of open-source technologies and groups are recognised.
My main interest is in the process of open-source mapping and moreover, how open-source groups/practices affect our conception of space, and the way we behave or move in space.
If you'd like more detail, I'll happily forward it on.
Many thanks for your consideration, its much appreciated.
Best wishes,
Joe
