Stage 1 of the new subdivision, Linden Grove, that I pass each day on my way to work finally got the street signage up this week. I biked around the streets with my GPS and logged them all and entered them into the map this afternoon. OSM is probably the first public map of these streets as the promotional information for the subdivision doesn't have the street names.

There have been some nice days to be out on the bike or walking.
I've completed the Summit Road from Gebbies pass to Mt Pleasant Rd, still have the section to Evans Pass to complete. also added to an incomplete section on the Old Tai Tapu road
I've also been adding some tracks as footways around the lake in Canterbury Park and the Quarry Trail which is in Kennedy's Bush reserve.
In the weekend I cycled up to Dyers Pass above Christchurch and then east along the Summit Road to Port Hills Road. This was the first time I've used JOSM to edit the map and the first time I've used my new GPS to add data to the map. Some photos I experimented with geotagging using GPS Correlate can be seen here

I then mapped the walk way through Canterbury Park, not far from my home. I hope to get out and do some more mapping over the Easter weekend.
Over the past week or so I've labelled the streets on my commute and some of the parks, schools, churches and shops in my local area. I'll add more detail before marking out further so at least my local area has some detail.
Been naming the streets in Halswell today that were on the map and updating some of them. There are a lot from new streets subdivisions that are not on the Yahoo overlay so a mapping trip in the bike will be needed to confirm some details. This will be in March when my GPS arrives.

I've been tracing Yahoo images to the streets of Hoon Hay and Hillmorton today. This is my home area. There are still plenty more to do and I'll be working on these over the next few weeks.
