but all the places around like campsea ashe are villages, and wm is considerable larger than them. why change something that has been perfectly fine for the past 8 years? without reaching out to any local mappers?

I think wickham market is more a town than a village. It is larger than a village and according to the wiki "towns normally have a good range of shops and facilities which are used by people from nearby villages".

There were lots of complaints from the locals and Fepham Parish when Arun tried to ban cycling along the promenade from Outram road towards the east. Signs were put up by Arun stating that cyclists would be fined, but these signs were quickly taken down, and didn't re-apear.

I don't live here anymore, so I'm not sure what has changed, but I think cycling is still allowed.
