Mapping Shepton Mallet

Posted by Jack Stringer on 2 August 2009 in English.

I put my GPS onto my motorbike today so I took it for a test ride. Went to Shepton Mallet and rode around for a wile. I was getting some funny looks as I zig zaged my way along the housing estates. It was fun.

I now have a GPS track for some of Shepton Mallet. But I still have a lot more to do. I need to find a way to record street names as I go along. Though for now I will just try and get the roads in. Some of the roads in the town have been moved since the NPE maps were made so I have had to tweek things here and there.

GPS Log Tidy up

Posted by Jack Stringer on 18 July 2009 in English.

Well I have just deleted all the GPS logs I had uploaded. Then tidied them up and re-uploaded them.

I have been doing some editing in my village and because I hadn't tidied the logs up before I have a lot of random scatter data from where I turn my GPS on in my van before leaving home. So now when I go back to the map it should all be nice a tidy. ;-)

I have some more logs that I will soon uploaded. Then I can add a few footpaths and a play park/recreational ground.
