Glassman - as Allison P linked to, my source is Peakbagger, as well as listsofjohn.com, summitpost.org, and other hiking/climbing sources. From what I can tell, the climbing community has used this name since the 1980’s, potentially the original source is a Fred Beckey climbing guide. This name was given due to the peak’s ordinance between Bettys Pass and Jug Lake. Definitely didn’t intend to add it as a prank! As one of Washington’s 800 most prominent peaks, I just felt that the name should be reflected on OSM.

Why did you name this West Ridge Butte? This is one of the three buttes included in the name "Cline Buttes." I understand this butte resides near the West Ridge area of the Eagle Crest resort, but I've never heard of anyone referring to this peak as anything other than Cline Butte - North (since it is a piece of the larger Cline Buttes structure). Oregon Board of Geographic names doesn't recognize the name West Ridge Butte, either. And there is a rock/aggregate company on the east side of this peak that uses the name Cline Buttes Aggregate. Can you clarify where the name came from?
