Hi Neil, I think we should keep this a cycleway. if it's a broad path, suitable for cycling then cycleway should apply. I think highway=footway + bicycle=yes is more suitable where the path is narrow and no signage. technically you can cycle on any path. But best to distinguish between small, narrow paths and wider thoroughfares. let me know what you think. I've revert some changes to the paths in Livingston. but we can discuss further.

Hi Chris, thanks for your cycle mapping Livingston. There was a small mapping party in Livingston today and we discussed the Local Cycle Network. It is widely recognised that the main shared use paths in Livingston are part of the local cycle network. But we weren't sure if the core path reference numbers should be used as they are not signposted on the ground and could be confusing to map users. Do you agree?
