Проїз на парковці, тим паче на парковці з позначеними дорожньою розміткою місцями для парковки, варто позначати service=parking_aisle на додаток до highway=service

Привіт, заради чого додали usage=branch до 460735611 та 985994123?

Hi, I opted to change 2424313590 back to Ліманська halt and I added a node for the stop position at the location you said was correct. Please do change them further if needed. Most of railway halts in Ukraine, not only Морська are mapped by a single node with railway=halt, without stop positions. It certainly does not mean that stop positions are not needed. Even if a railway has a single track, as it is here, trains that are going in opposite directions might have different stop positions.

Hello, Thanks for your contributions! Let me mention that Лиманська is not a railway station, but rather a halt, зупинний пункт. OSM wiki recommends to indicate halts by nodes, not polygons. So, here I would just keep one node for a halt (in the middle of it) and another node on the railway track for a stop position (in the middle of where the train actually stops). See railway=halt and railway=station

Hello, First of all, thanks for your contributions! The electrification of Kovel-Izov-State Border is ongoing and hopefully will be finished next year. What I'm in doubts about is the electrification of Kovel-Chelm that you have tagged as proposed. Could you please reveal the authority that has proposed to electrify Kovel-Chelm?

If JOSM is to be blamed for this mechanical change, could it be that you have added to JOSM a dubious validation test? Neither the default tests nor some extra are telling me to change contact_line to contact:line on a railway. You have done a few more such changes back in 2019 and in 2020, and so have done andergrin. On the other hand, jaimemd was removing contact_line (changeset/47496216), which is what I'm also suggesting when electrified=contact_line is already specified. Also, quite surprisingly, contact_line=yes is predominantly used on Ukrainian railways and not much elsewhere on this planet.
On the communication stuff, sorry, a typo in your nickname was not intentional (but 140/one-for-zero might be provocative, or am I too suspicious?). Also, you are questioning my choice to communicate in English (are you Russian?). Among other things, if contact_line=yes gets removed in the favor of electrified=contact_line, this conversation is good to have on record easily searchable and accessible for anyone who might question such disappearance.

Hi Mike130, It appears to me that both electrified=contact_line and contact_line=yes provide the same information about a railway, but between these two options the first one is a thousand times more popular. Also, the first option but not the second is the documented way to indicate that a railway is electrified with an overhead contact line. Therefore, when I see contact_line=yes for a railway, I change it to electrified=contact_line, or if electrified=contact_line is already there, I simply remove contact_line=yes. What I don't understand is your changes of contact_line=yes to contact:line=yes given that contact key is typically used to specify contact information, such as phone, email, etc. In this changeset, you have specified tools.geofabrik.de as your source. Which particular tool there was suggesting to make such a change?

Hi Stephan, The Bible says that the world originally was quite different from how it is today. This railway too has changed quite a bit since its opening in 1930. Energoatom placed the following photo to demonstrate the state of this railway before its renovation this summer https://www.energoatom.com.ua/images/publicationGallery/60ebf9de81c09.jpeg It might convince you that the railway was no longer within the main line standards. Next, the wiki page for key:usage puts an emphasis on primary usage of a railway, mentioning as criteria of a main line “presumably heavy traffic, often double tracked and/or electrified, may be high speed.” The railway from Vilcha to Yaniv does not and will not have heavy traffic, it is singe-tracked and not electrified. Spent nuclear fuel that Energoatom will carry on this railway to a recently constructed storage will be transported, I hope, at the lowest acceptable speed. That fuel will stay at the storage for 100 years, they say. Best, Gregory

Hello Flierfy, You have reclassified the entire railway from Ovruch to Chernihiv as main, but I believe it is hardly the case. The part from Vilcha to Yaniv I would classify as industrial. There was some regular passenger traffic there in old days, but after the Chernobyl disaster this part has been rarely used. Ukrzaliznytsia did not want to maintain it because it passes through a contaminated area, because on a way to Chernihiv it passes the international border twice, and because the demand for commercial and passenger traffic has mostly evaporated there. So early this year, the government of Ukraine transferred the control over the Vilcha-Yaniv part of railway from Ukrzaliznytsia to Energoatom (https://zakon.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/91-2021-%D1%80). Energoatom has already renovated it this summer (actually, it contracted Ukrzaliznytsia to do the work, https://www.railjournal.com/freight/chernobyl-exclusion-zone-reconnected-to-ukraines-railway-network), and it will be the sole user of this part of Ovruch-Chernihiv railway.

strong profanity language by olehz as a way to support his revert with zero evidence of wrongdoing. this experienced user is simply getting offended when points he mapped are moved. he believes his points have zero error because he "burned fuel" as he says to map them 5-10 years ago. the equipment he used remains a mystery. therefore, reverting back to my version that is based on recent Strava tracks.
