Unfortunately the cadastre comes wit a really restrictive license and we cannot use it on OSM. The quality is the best you can get for Australia today. If we could use it, the quality in Sydney would be mush better already. New Zealand has released its cadastre and the kiwi osm looks better. French cadastre has been free for 5 years and look how french cities are filled:

I am afraid we have to wait a year or two that Australia realise what it could get by releasing this kind of data.

Hi Mike and thank for the reply.

I was asking that because the source of the last edited CBD's street is Nearmap in JOSM.

I have noticed the wrong alignment by overlaying a layer I am working on based on the Australian cadastre. Most (if not all) the streets in the CBD, from circular quay to Liverpool st and from Darling harbour to Hide park are off.

A collegue of mine and I would be more than happy to help fixing that.

Have you use nearmap for changing Sydney CBD ? Looks like the alignement of the streets is completely off.
