Changeset When Comment

Yeah, I’ve been doing a lot of stuff around Ore recently, the main reason I made my account was because before ore had only 2 or 3 buildings in it and I wanted to complete it all. Most of the stuff I’ve done I’ve tried to align with a combination of cadastral parcels and Bing aerial imagery (which has gone weird recently and defaults to the lower-res hard to see Ezri imagery, so I have to manually set it to the Bing url). Been also using the Inspire ID search on gov.uk to confirm addresses and postcodes. Unfortunately I broke my laptop yesterday and it’s been sent of for repairs so I’ll be inactive for a week or two.

Thanks, my apologies JOSM was being annoying late last night while I was trying to upload a massive changeset as the road had been modified since I started the changeset, I don’t think I actually even touched the road myself it just kept saying there was a conflict one node at a time and wouldn’t let me upload it until they were all “resolved,” was too late at night for me to notice it…

My apologies, it was quite late when I uploaded that changeset and after adding so many buildings I was just tired of it constantly telling me there was a conflict one node at a time…

Tried to fix as much as I could

Don’t know… JOSM wouldn’t let me upload me changeset until I resolved conflicts as I think you uploaded a changeset while I was working on mine. I would fix it myself now but I broke my laptop screen earlier today and need to send it off for repairs, and the iD editor is very clunky on iPad.. could give it a try though

My bad, sorry for some reason I forgot that you can turn right🤦‍♂️

Hi, that lane in the middle of the junction is not two way nor does it have two lanes at that point. it is one way going from The Ridge to Old London Road. Traffic going in the opposite direction takes the slipway to the left which is separated by an island.
(Also just fyi, it’s Bachelor’s Bump, not Batchelor’s Bump:) (apologies if this sounds petty, didn’t mean for it to)).

Additionally, if you look at aerial imagery of these specific fields, you can see remnants of lines from football fields and goals. Imagery from different times of the year show different line layouts.

Hi,
This land is part of a school’s sports field, not a public recreation ground.
The lines and markings change throughout the year to match whatever sporting season it currently is (see sport=multi for how the tag sport=multi is handled and this is essentially the correct use of the tag)

leisure=pitch
^This page on the wiki states that the term pitch can be used for spaces with multiple sport layouts, and the page denoting how to map schools doesn’t mention recreation ground anywhere. The recreation ground’s page says that the term is generally used for a publicly accessible space for general recreation; this area is neither publicly accessible (it is part of the school’s property and is not open to just anyone walking down the street), nor do they have any forms of playground equipment within their borders.
Additionally, the initial page about pitches also mentions at the bottom under “possible tagging mistakes” that the tag “leisure=recreation_ground” (what had been tagged here before) is a commonly mistaken form of the correct tag “landuse=recreation_ground,” and that automated edits like this are strongly discouraged unless you are totally sure.
