over 3 years ago | Hello @Justin_new. Welcome to OSM. You seem to have inadvertently added natural=water +water=lake to the Heart of Jesus Hospital. Do you need any help fixing it, or can you that yourself? As you may know, OpenStreetMap is widely used by many other users, some for emergency services and response, so we try to make sure that the data we contribute is as good as possible for everyone.
over 3 years ago | Hello @Rjay Vicente. Welcome to OSM. What is Tampei, and can you say anything more about this field project?
over 3 years ago | That sounds great @ xChAoSx. Thanks for sharing the links - they didn't come up when I tried to search for *recent* news. Looks like they've been in the pipeline for so long. If you couldn't wait for imagery updates, you might want to consider collecting them yourself, using Mapillary or KartaView. Even GNSS track logs might be useful
over 3 years ago | Hello @xChAosx. Kamusta? I'm curious about this cycleway tag update you did. Is it really a cycleway (a highway purposely built for people on bikes), or a multi-use path, where cycling is allowed? If it's the latter, it's probably better tagged as highway=path + foot=yes + bicycle=yes This caught my interest because if this is a real cycleway, it would have been in the news, but I couldn't find any reports about it.
over 3 years ago | Sorry for the broken link, the correct URL is: osm.wiki/Names#Abbreviation_(don't_do_it)
over 3 years ago | Hello @gps_tracker. Thank you for helping improve the map. I noticed that you're using abbreviations in the street names (i.e., "St." instead of "Street"). According to the OSM wiki, the convention is, [not to abbreviate](osm.org/wiki/Names#Abbreviation_(don't_do_it)) A map layer may render the appropriate abbreviation when necessary, but the underlying data should be spelled in full. Among other things, this also ensures that other data users can avoid contextual errors. (e.g. pronouncing "street" where "saint", or "drive" instead of "doctor").
over 3 years ago | Looks good! Thanks.
over 3 years ago | Hi @RHLDSTUDIOS. That's an interesting edit. Do you mind saying what you're trying to do the traffic barrier element?
over 3 years ago | Hello @Apiong! This is awesome! Thank you for helping improve the OSM map. I improved some of the edits you made to reflect what it represents on the map. If you want to make this more relevant for others, you can add missing elements, or add missing names of roads or nearby places. Daghang salamat!
over 3 years ago | Looks good! Thank you. It would be awesome if you can also add local knowledge to the map, like street names, or important POIs/features. If you have questions, or concerns, you can also reach out to the local communities: osm.org/wiki/PH
over 3 years ago | Thank you for your edit. Mapped "areas" in OpenStreetMap are not displayed (rendered) on the map unless they're used with more specific tags that describe or match the features. In your original edit, it appears that you're trying to map an orchard, and left a comment in your changset that said it's "Ñumana Farm". That information was extrapolated, and put together here: osm.org/go/4zkE81FQQ--?m= Please feel free to update them, or add more details to make it more useful for other people.
over 3 years ago | Hello @joserey1988. Thank you for your edits. According to the aerial imagery, this area appears to be a farmland, rather than the factory itself. Can you elaborate? The facotry, where the actual processing actually happens, can be tagged as industrial, but the farming areas where crops are grown are usually tagged as farmland. Do you have questions about mapping? Check out the local community's communication channels: osm.org/wiki/PH, or the local mapping convention: osm.org/wiki/Philippines/Mapping_conventions
over 3 years ago | Thank you for the reminder, and updating the feature. Do remember the Filipino and English are two of the official languages in the country, so I don't see any reason why the English version should have precedence over the Filipino name. Of course, the best value for name=* is whatever name they use in the lingua franca (e.g. Visayan, Bicolano, etcetera), but between Filipino and English, I would prefer the former.
over 3 years ago | Hello @Lexie1777! Awesome to see you using OrganicMaps. Could you elaborate on these "community centers" you added? Their names (VTL001, CL001) look very odd, and it's possible that you meant to map something else? May tanong o inaalala ka ba tungkol sa mapa o datos sa OSM? Maaring makipag-ugnayan sa mga boluntaryong lokal: osm.org/wiki/PH
over 3 years ago | Hola! Thank you for your edit. Glad to see more contributors from Zamboanga. I'm sure it has changed a lot since the last time I've been there.
over 3 years ago | It's awesome that you added these buildings. Do you know that #MapWithAI is available in the Philippines, and complement your mapping, and take advantage of Artificial Intelligence detections to add buildings more quickly? Try it out: https://mapwith.ai/rapid
over 3 years ago | Salamat sa'yong pag-kumpirmá nitó.
over 3 years ago | Good to see you trying out #MapComplete's theme to Map all the trees! 😀 What do you think?
over 3 years ago | Thanks for adding these cell towers. Instead of adding "Globe Cellsite" as a name, which strictly isn't true. You might want to specify the other attributes: MNC, MCC, gsm:cellid , if you know them. You can add the tower's operator (e.g. a third-party, other than Globe)
over 3 years ago | Hey, thanks for continuing to improve OpenStreetMap. I remember you mentioned how you like to add trees, and I wonder if you ever tried the MapComplete theme specific for that: https://mapcomplete.osm.be/trees ? MapComplete is a theme-specific editor for OpenStreetMap, and probably one of the easiest editor to use in OSM.
