| 141008029 | over 2 years ago | Hi there. Thank you raising this topic. Yes, the easist way to determine the history of OpenStreetMap (OSM) elements is the Query Feature button (it's the last button on the right panel of the screen, featuring an arrow pointing to the left, with a question mark. In this case, the land feature was named 8 days ago. OSM never claims to be authoritative, or official. Ergo, caveat emptor. With or without OSM, it's not hard to create fantasy maps. |
| 139014308 | over 2 years ago | Hello @Zunco☺️ . Welcome to OpenStreetMap. You appear to trying to map something else, but you're tagging them as "camp sites." Could you elaborate what you're trying to do? If you're keen to learn more, or get in touch with the local OpenStreetMap community, check out osm.org/wiki/PH |
| 137464330 | over 2 years ago | Wow! Thank you for completing the street names in this area. |
| 137397598 | over 2 years ago | Let's agree to calling it "unnecessary", for the routers then. Maybe, just map the signage then?
|
| 137397537 | over 2 years ago | Right. I suppose that's a better term. You can map the signage separately then.

| 131531712 | over 2 years ago | Thanks for updating the POIs, @Legitamer. Great to see a fellow Osmand user helping improve OSM! It's better to tag sari-sari stores as `shop=convenience`, rather than `shop=yes`. |
| 136081606 | over 2 years ago | Example tags appropriate tag for short-term construction work: construction=minor + motor_vehicle:conditional=no @ (2018 May 1-2022 May 31) |
| 136081606 | over 2 years ago |
highway=construction should only be used when a road is **impassable** due to construction activity. If partial access is possible (e.g. one lane remains passable), highway=*, and access=* tags remain as-is. A note is definitely going to be useful for reference. |
| 135433255 | over 2 years ago | Hello @Izzhar Balbon. I'm curious about some of the elements you added in this changeset that doesn't show up in several imagery providers. Can you please elaborate what your source is? |
| 137089625 | over 2 years ago | I'm not actually asking about the PSGC codes or the is_in key (you appear to be using them as expected), and the local community has discussed this before, and treat those as "facts". However, it seems you're saying that you're tracing boundaries from the PSA geodata ? May I know if you got PSA's permission before doing so? If so, can you share with us the permission letter you got from them? By any chance, have you encountered this FAQ before: osm.org/wiki/Philippines/FAQs_for_PH_data#Frequently_Asked_Questions_about_data_sources_for_OpenStreetMap_contributors_in_the_Philippines |
| 137089625 | over 2 years ago | Are you saying you're tracing the administrative boundaries you're modifying from data of the Philippines Statistics Authority? |
| 134243007 | over 2 years ago | Hi @EngrBlessing199x
|
| 137089625 | over 2 years ago | Hi @relaemanila! I noticed that you're adding administrative boundaries. Can you elaborate your source(s) for these? |
| 137200060 | over 2 years ago | Thank you for adding the details for the school! Are you from this neighbourhood ? |
| 134264991 | over 2 years ago | Hi @junetsu! Thank you for your contributing to OSM. I observed in your edits that you've been connecting landuse boundaries to highways in the subdivisions you've edited. This isn't actually a recommended practice since it can cause more issues down the line. Please check out the wiki for this particular concern: osm.wiki/Land_use#Mapping_land_use_in_more_detail By the way, if you're keen to stay in touch with fellow local mappers, check out the local community channels available in your preferred platform in the Philippines: osm.org/wiki/PH |
| 136463307 | over 2 years ago | As I told you earlier, there's really nothing to "fix", and that the issue you're encountering is your browser retrieving the cache version of the map, rather than the fresh one from the OSM database. The workaround is to *force* your browser to refresh it's cache. At any rate, and thanks to you, the highway is now geocoded correctly, and with the correct name. 🎉 |
| 132194065 | over 2 years ago | Hello @Lykaaaa ! Welcome to OSM. I noticed some spurious edits you recently made, and I'm wondering if you need any help with the tools or imagery you're using? Usually, mappers will trace buildings features that appear on imagery, but what you've added appear to be way off, and actually is already on the map. If you need any help, you can try reaching out to the local community, on platforms accessible to you: osm.org/wiki/PH |
| 136312380 | over 2 years ago | There's no need to add this because the feature is already mapped. Look a few meters down south, and you'll see that it's been mapped in detail: way/120426236 |
| 136198000 | over 2 years ago | Thank you for fixing it! If you're keen to know more about OSM, or get in touch with the local OSM community try: |
| 136146614 | over 2 years ago | Hi there! Welcome to OSM. To map residential blocks, please do not tag them as an "ATM" to force them to show up. If you need help with your edits, or want to ask questions, try to reach out to the local community: osm.org/wiki/PH |
