I just wanted to say thank you for adding so much landuse in Kernow. It's nice to not be the only one doing it :)

English is not the only language native on the island of Great Britain. People in Cymru are welcome to (and do) use Cymraeg while editing. People in Alba are welcome to (and do) use Gàidhlig or braid Scots while editing. English people are welcome to (and do) use English while editing. But no one has rights (legally or morally) to prevent anyone else from using their own language, native to GB or not. English is no more or less important over any other language.

There are/were many notes in Cornwall by german tourists which are in German. I simply asked them for a translation, they gave one, and I then fixed whatever the problem was. I made no insist that they write notes in Cornish or English. Obviously I need versions of them in one of those languages but they can do that when they wish. I don't expect them to get out the dictionary mid-hike 😅. No one was being "less than productive" at any point here. Anyone may use the language they are most comfortable with as long as they can provide translations for the benefit of others. Excluding people against language helps no one.

I have updated the database with the English wikipedia articles, which are no more or less valid than the Cornish wikipedia articles. The station nodes are not duplicated now in any case, without regard of whether they were before. If they were then I apologise and thank you for pointing it out, it was not intentional. It's a shame this had to be such an unpleasant conversation.

You are welcome to be suspicious of me, I was suspicious of you until you confirmed my suspicions. If you have any (non-predjudiced) concerns about my changesets, please do politely tell me.

Thank you for your communication! I will though continue to edit in my native language of Cornish while editing in Cornwall. Like many young people down here, I was raised speaking Cornish as a first language and as you have probably noticed my English is not native level.
Also I apologise if I've come off as rude, Cornish is a very direct language so people like me can accidentally get ourselves in trouble when speaking English!
As with anywhere else in the world where English is a guest language, you are welcome to ask for translations at any time :)

(FYI I do make an effort to make my notes and other direct communication things bilingual)

Could you clarify what you mean by "vandalism"? If I've vandalised anything then I'm unaware of doing so.

I disconnected them from the track ways but as far as I'm aware that is standard practice: stopping position nodes on ways, station nodes not. Please do correct me if that's not right.

If you mean the wikipedia tags then I don't think it makes much practical difference - every data consumer I know of gets Wikipedia extracts in the user's language via Wikidata anyway - so if it bothers you then I'm perfectly happy to change them back to the English wikipedia :)

For lack of a response I've reinstated the changeset to the best of my ability (apparently you can't revert a revert): changeset/186938188

To be entirely honest, I'm starting to suspect that you might not be acting in good faith here. Your only dialogue with me so far has been "edwq fefe fqqq hl;klllsd sad www f dgr 'er" (changeset/185851471#map=14/50.18917/-5.45595) which is certainly, um... less than productive 😅

If you have problems with my edits in future please do articulate them :)

PS: I remember I also fiddled with some wikidata and wikipedia tags but I figured those probably couldn't be the problem since it would be more than a slight overreaction to revert the whole changeset rather than just undo those 2 tags on 4 nodes in a new changeset 😅

Might I ask why you reverted the changeset? All it did was add native Kernewek (Cornish) names. I can split it into multiple changesets with one for the railway and another for the road infrastructure etc. if that was the problem :)

Assuming that the "Cornwall Council definitive map" is the one linked below, it isn't a permitted source for OSM. Its data is from Ordnance Survey which is under Crown Copyright, whereas OSM is under the incompatible ODbL license.

For a change this minor it's not a massive problem but just something to be aware of in future. Other maps such as Google Maps are also not legal sources. OSM does have explicit permission to use the satellite imagery included in editors like iD (the one on the website). If you're ever unsure about whether we're allowed to use something, you can make a new topic on the forum and ask: https://community.openstreetmap.org/

FYI as long as you're 100% sure it's a Flock camera (i.e. it has the logo) and you're only following the steps on DeFlock then you don't need to tick the review box

I've fixed the building tag. Sorry about the issue with the tag qa. The technicalities of OSM like tags are more than a little beyond me. In retrospect, I clearly shouldn't have gotten involved in stuff I don't understand. I never wanted to damage the map or waste anyone's time. From now on, I'll stick to easier things like adding buildings and doing StreetComplete. Sorry again and thank you for your time :)

Since this was your first edit, might I suggest that you start with the more conventional route of editing your local area? You will likely already know a great deal of detail and it should be an easier and more productive start than a remote island in the Atlantic.

I know that Saint Helena, Ascension, and Tristan da Cunha have some weird names but this seems a bit suspicious. I can't find any other reference to this name. Do you have any source for this name being in common or local usage?

My bad. After a bit of digging, it appears that it is just called "Dental Surgery". I thought it was a descriptive name. I have reverted the changeset.

It's an optional tag which can be used "to specify the type of passenger public transport vehicle that uses a stop or station". highway=bus_stop does infer that it's for buses but I think it's better to explicitly state that as well.
