Hi erickdeoliveiraleal,

This was a while ago, but looking at the imagery I cited as a source (Mapbox Satellite), I do see a road. It's harder to see in Bing and Esri because there's a big shadow in the way.

I notice there are cycleways mapped parallel to this road, on the outside of the primary ways. Do people bicycle on the trunk (formerly motorway) part of the road instead of on these cycleways?

Hi Felipe_Z,

Welcome to OSM!

Could you share more about why you have changed this motorway to trunk? From what I can see, it meets all the criteria to be motorway.

Best,

Evandering

Hola Felipe_Z,

Bienvenido a OSM.

¿Podrías compartir más sobre por qué has cambiado esta motorway a trunk? Por lo que veo, cumple todos los criterios para ser autopista.

Saludos,

Evandering

I only created two relations here: the two that I gave you the Mapillary links for. There’s one other relation in the changeset that I incidentally modified, but did not create. Is that what you are referring to?

Hola mariotomo. Las señales para los giros en U que he creado son visibles en estas imágenes:

Hi mariotomo, the account that made this changeset isn’t active any longer. It looks like the two service ways they tagged go to individual farms or industries rather than communities. That seems like an appropriate use of highway=service to me, but of course we will defer to someone more local.

Hi Martin,

To make both carriageways of RN 46 consistent, I copied the tags over from way/556485606 . I’m not sure about the accuracy of the cycleway tags. User Sandervalya may know more. Thank you for reaching out.

Thanks PelleV! I just updated it today.

Hi 1T-money,

The ferry has motor_vehicle=yes with frequent service, and travel guides such as Lonely Planet and Wikivoyage suggest it is not a major barrier. Based on this, I don’t think the north part of RD PET-11 should be classified differently than the south part. It's just as important for access to Sayaxché from the north as the south part.

Cheers,

Hi JJIglesias,

May I ask why these ways were upgraded to trunk? [Bolivia clasificación_de_carreteras](osm.wiki/ES:Wikiproyecto_Bolivia/Clasificaci%C3%B3n_de_carreteras) says that trunk roads are those which connect large cities, but these towns seem very small compared to the largest cities in Bolivia, and F35 doesn't seem comparable to a road like F4. Perhaps secondary or tertiary would be a more appropriate classification?

Hi fatou94,

Bienvue à OpenStreetMap!

I noticed these roads were added on top of roads that were already mapped. Generally, when you have improvements to make to the map, it's best to check if features are already there, and edit those if present, before adding new features. I also noticed that you named the new roads 'route'. As osm.wiki/Names#Name_is_the_name_only explains, we should avoid using the `name` field for generic descriptions like 'route', 'maison', etc. If the road does not have a name that can be found on a street sign, like 'Route de Niayes', then this field can be left blank.

Lastly, some of the ways you have added are tagged `highway=motorway`. As osm.wiki/FR:Tag:highway%3Dmotorway explains, `motorway` should be used on high-performance ways with control of access. They are not the best tag for city streets which access buildings and houses.

Lastly, when editing, please try and use descriptive changeset comments to help your fellow mappers. Examples are at osm.wiki/FR:Bons_commentaires_de_groupe_de_modifications

In this case, I'm going to merge your newly-mapped data into the existing data, so that we can use your contributions without having two copies of each road.

I hope my comments don't discourage you from future editing. You can learn more about mapping roads at osm.wiki/FR:Highway_Tag_Africa

Cordialement,

The tags from the removed buildings were moved onto nodes. I added the way IDs of the deleted features to notes on these nodes so that the history remains accessible.

Hi zahadi,

Welcome to OpenStreetMap! If you haven’t already, may I suggest reading the OSM guide to good editing practice (osm.wiki/Good_practice)?

It looks like when these footways were created, they were unconnected (osm.wiki/Unconnected_ways). This means that navigation applications can't use them, and users viewing the map close-up may see gaps. I've connected these ways together, and also created nodes where they cross other nodes, such as pedestrian crossings.

I also thinned out nodes on curves. I generally use JOSM's circle arc (https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Help/Action/CreateCircleArc) tool to create enough nodes for the curves to appear smooth, without drawing more than necessary. Too many nodes will make editing harder for other users, by making downloads take longer and making it more complex to manipulate nodes.

Please feel free to get in touch if you have questions or feedback about my edits, or if you would like to discuss future edits.

Cheers,

Evandering
