Hi,
Yeap, informal settlements / camps.
As I have mentioned changes in N Syria are very dynamical the last few years. So say some informal settlements / camps that might have been visible on ESRI aerial 2 years ago might no longer be there, some have been burnt down, while some others have popped up. I expect if I review my edits from this Spring in the Autumn or next Spring some will need deleted and some new ones added.
I felt the 'irregular settlement' was the best match for what I was capturing for our project. If you can suggest a better tag, happy to use it going forward. Reminded me that I haven't added fields for a while, might spend time on it this weekend :-).
Cheers,
Edith

Hi Joseph.
Thanks for the question. Are you working for OSM or are you just one of the contributors as I am?
As for this change set, as you might be aware the population of Syria has been in a flux for almost ten years now and there is a strong internal movement of people, with settlements and camps popping up and disappearing constantly, most are temporary, but many might become permanent. I was capturing data for a humanitarian project. Mainly settlements and fields. They have amazing rectilinear field system which can become completely obsessive for capture :-).
May I ask why are you interested in this area and the tags?
Cheers,
Edith
