In my understanding there are way too many roads marked as residential in that area that should be unclassified.
In my understanding "residential" is the right category for streets that are mainly not used to pass tru, have speed bumps or so. I hope you agree with me?
I use "unclassified" for roads connecting settlements. Unfortunately I don't have the resources to change all wrongly categorized roads.

I absolutely agree I should have used the "link" feature for those intersections! Will be more careful in the future.
