That would be great for better accuracy, completeness and no separate maintenance

Yes you are quite right Tom. Thanks for spotting that I had wrongly changed my own previous correct work. I will move it back. Sorry for my mistake.

Hello gurglypipe
On reflection I am convinced that it would be inappropriate to make an attribution to DoBIH because my estimated locations on OSM do not reflect the accurate measurements and coordinates of DoBIH. It would be unfair to DoBIH to imply a level of accuracy on OSM compared to its own precise data. I am confident though that I have positioned summits within a few metres of the DoBIH coordinates (where the OSM peaks were previously tens of metres out of place). However by visually comparing OSM, aerial and OS maps I have not achieved a precise alignment to the DoBIH data. It has been a very useful guide but its data has not been exactly aligned to.
It would be great if you or other OSM contributors decide to import data from DoBIH to make the peaks across the UK more accurate on OSM, in which case an attribution would be appropriate and necessary.
Cheers

If you would like to add attribution as a courtesy then that would be a nice gesture, although it is certainly not an obligation as I have not copied anything, I've just made observations from a published source. As I have mentioned DoBIH in the change sets, I have already acknowledged it as a reference source anyway.

If you click on a peak's grid ref on DoBIH then it displays the summit's position on a map. You can select OS map, aerial, etc. I look at these and visually align the peak on OSM using the standard map with the aerial background. This allow me to fairly accurately locate the peak without copying anything. All just my observation and judgement. It took me several hours to make these improvements to the locations of popular Wainwright summits on OSM for the public's benefit. There are clearly no copyright or licensing issues with this manual process.
I am glad that I have now clarified this fully for you so that you have no need to ask any further questions. I understand that you raised a legitimate concern and that I have been able to address it.
Thanks

Hi again.
As I wrote in my reply, I haven't imported any data from DoBIH. All that I have done is visually referenced published sources including OS maps. This has dramatically improved the locations of Lake District summits on OSM. No original material has been copied from DoBIH and so copyright and licensing are not an issue. I have just used my own observation.
I hope that clarifies matters and addresses your concern.
Cheers

Hello
Thanks for checking.
It's fine though as I haven't imported any data. I have just used the Database of British and Irish Hills as a reliable published public source of information.
I also cross checked their location with the OS map position.
Cheers

Hi, the OS map shows the trig pillar at 322m and the summit at 323m approx 25m south east of the trig pillar. So the peak that I added should be kept as a separate node. Thanks.
