5 months ago | Hi, No problem. I had set it to heritage because the wiki says to use that value for entries in National Register of Historic Places. osm.wiki/National_Register_of_Historic_Places
6 months ago | So to clarify - that's a no. You have no justification for adding these driveways to the map other than "they're there." No use case, nothing. Gotcha. Again, I will strongly suggest that you stop doing this. There are many problems with OSM in the San Diego area - missing and incomplete addresses, missing and out-of-date business information, missing sidewalks, turning restrictions, etc. Adding any of these would have immediate benefit for daily navigation use cases. With that, I've wasted enough time on this issue.
6 months ago | Ctl - are you actually going to answer the question, or just continue to evade it and play word games?
6 months ago | @ctl - You've never made an argument why you think adding driveways to unmapped houses is useful. You just keep repeating that because driveways exist that they should be added to the map (this isn't an argument OSM accepts; there are plenty of things that should not be mapped). Why do you add them? What benefit do you think they provide? Also, the driveways often intersect with Microsoft's open buildings datasets; this causes validation errors when I add the houses.
6 months ago | I am tired of repeating myself - adding driveways to nowhere does not add value to the map. Stop adding them. Stop reverting my edits. Stop vandalizing the map.
6 months ago | Again, saying there are X of a thing is not a valid reply. Adding driveways to no where is map vandalism.
6 months ago | For example, adding driveways to houses that aren't mapped (along Elkelton Boulevard, for example) is not remotely helpful.
6 months ago | Adding individual driveways for single-family houses is not beneficial -- it's just visual clutter and noise. It should not be on the map. Stop adding them. Stop reverting my edits. If you want to actually improve OSM in the San Diego area, there are many areas with no buildings or missing address data. Focus on those.
6 months ago | If you want to make the map better, I suggest focusing on adding the missing houses and address fields.
6 months ago | I provided a justification. Also, I'm not required to justify my edits to you. Simply claiming there are a lot of X isn't a rationale. I'm ending this conversation now.
6 months ago | It is absolutely unnecessary to add individual driveways for a residential neighborhood. The driveways to not improve navigation or add clarity. They are map clutter. I will continue removing them.
over 1 year ago | Thank you!
| 156321126 | over 1 year ago | Please revert this change. You accidentally added a segment of University Drive running adjacent to College Avenue; this needs to be removed.
