I don't think there is any explicit proof that there should be only one number to a road. But here is an official document from NHAI where it clearly states that the section between Hosur and Krishnagiri is NH44 and not NH48

My Data source is simple government documents in the link below from Gazette and NHAI, check NH44, it's route mentioned Hosur, Dharmapuri, Salem in the state of TamilNadu. But for NH48 after Bengaluru it starts from Krishnagiri, Vellore from the state of TamilNadu skipping Hosur. And the document from NHAI has NH KM for each state split and when you check the KM between Chennai and Krishnagiri it will match the length of NH48 in the state of Tamilnadu. All my other changes as well is based on Govt sources and not from my imagination. Please dont waste time questioning each and everytime. Also please do understand basic logic a road can bear only one number not two numbers to identify it.

NH Will not be continuous when you look into Thanjavur specifically at relation/3229793#map=16/10.8282/79.1353

SH27 was upgraded into NH136, hence the NH starts at this point from NH36. SH8 was upgraded into old NH45C and new NH36.

From the earlier point to the following point Bypass was build as part of NH36, relation/3230497#map=16/10.7811/79.1669, at this point NH36 ends because the Bypass from here is part of NH 83, which earlier continued into City and now part of SHU89. Thus have removed overlapping section of NH marked as its incorrect and the roads doesn't reflect NH36.

Could you please highlight specific instance where my changes had been problematic. Only instance i could think of is removing of double numbering of NH on same stretch of road as its incorrect. Have updated with exact numbering on all sections on entire NH,SH,MDR road network of TN.

Hi, I would have taken this from one of the govt sources, but it was bound to have mistake, since you being a local please do make the change

service=*

Check the picture in this page, it clearly states service=sidng for the lines apart form main lines passing through the station.

Definition for siding is "This tag is used for tracks which run parallel to the main track and are connected to it. These tracks are used by slower trains to be overtaken or to let passengers enter/leave the train if the main tracks do not have platforms. These tracks might be hard to differ from the main tracks in some cases." If no service is marked its by dafault considered as main line, but there is clear difference when you mark the sidings.

Not all lines are sidings. In railways term, the line which runs through the stations are called main lines and Platform lines which start and terminate with in the station yard are called Loop lines. So have marked them as Sidings, which is right as per the wiki knowledge as well. In YPR you can see three lines without siding marking which is intended to be marked as main. two lines towards Chikkabanavara and one towards yelahanka
