I added a missing driveway and changed a few "residential roads" to driveways in the area in question. Hope I resolved the issue you had. If not just let me know what I missed :-)

There are lots of driveways that were automatically tagged "residential" by some misguided bot and I've changed hundreds of tags for them. I don't remember deleting any in the manner you describe but I suppose it's not impossible. If you can give me a lat/long I'll take another look.

Not sure what you're referring to. Comment says "remove phantom features". The aerial photo layer I saw did not support the existence of the feature in question so the "way" was removed. Some dirt trails revert back to nature and I believe the map needs to be updated when that happens.

To recreate problem in RWGPS I try to route from the dam to Story's Station Road. Instead of direct route (west) it goes east to Scottswood then Bethel Road and down to Story's Station and Country Club intersection. Usually this behavior (which I fix frequently) is a disconnect for an immediately obvious reason. Not the case here - at least for me.

This area does not route properly in RideWithGPS. Multiple attempts to solve problem have failed. It used to route OK a few years ago. Section between Cypress Cove Dam and Storys Station Road also has a "phantom" gravel road (on RWGPS) which appears for no reason roughly 400 ft to the west of this modified section. Something weird is going on here. Could be RWGPS software but I use it A LOT and have never had a routing problem where I couldn't fix the issue in OSM before.

Hmm. Your change came up while asking for history in a small town in Virginia. I assumed you were making a local change. Looks like you have a bigger problem - pun intended.
