Hi there, great that you are surveying here. I think it is a good idea to keep the legal footpath route as people are entitled to use it and perhaps add the new way as an alternative.

by highway=no are you saying there should be a path but isn't? I'm curious because I'm not really sure how to map rights of way with no physical presence.
