almost 3 years ago | Thinking about it more, probably the right tagging for a guyed mast is man_made=mast. Unless you are an engineer, then one mast will look like another. Then further takking with tower:type=radio.
almost 3 years ago | Sort of. A self supporting mast is a tower. A medium wave (and usually short wave/long wave) can be a mast and antenna - usually they are guyed. I suppose they could be tagged as man_made=mast and mast:type=antenna or man_made=antenna and antenna:type=mast. There is quite a lot of potential for confusion.
almost 3 years ago | Yes! A mast is not a self supporting structure. A mast has guy wires to keep it in place. Most cell phone towers are incorrectly described as masts. In broadcast, there are either towers or masts. And in the broadcast context, you could say communications tower. However, tower with a type is more appropriate. A tower or mast could have no function at all. An antenna is actually involved in transmitting a signal. Most often it is a smaller part attached to a tower or mast. It is possible for a mast, or less commonly a tower to be an antenna. That would be the case with a medium-wave transmitter where the whole structure becomes the antenna. It would still be best described as a tower or mast though based on its physical appearance. I hope that helps!

almost 8 years ago | The vast majority of what I saw was Erbil. It is worth having a look at the talk page for Erbil at Wikipedia as there is a fair discussion there. I do not read Arabic or Kurdish, so I cannot comment on those.
almost 8 years ago | I was not aware of the edit wars over this. I was there last month and I know people from that region. From what I have seen, Erbil is the common spelling, though I accept it is often transliterated as Arbil. Wikivoyage has just changed their page from Arbil to Erbil to align with Wikipedia. From what I have seen elsewhere, transliteration often throws up problems like this.
