What u're saying is correct, but only for the OSM official website renderer. I have tried/coded more renderers and it's a pretty hard thing to implement and I've also never seen another OSM renderer doing that. I used to map like you suggested me, but some programmers suggested me to start doing it like I do it now because like you do only works with OSM website renderer.

Grazie per tutto, non lo sapevo, credevo che addr:city andasse bene anche per frazioni, guardando anche changesets in altri paesi d'europa e chiedendo sul server discord di OSM. Ad esempio a Casciano di Murlo ho utilizzato addr:city=Casciano e non Murlo, dato che comunque è un altro posto (anche più grande)

Non ti preoccupare, non l'ho preso come un messaggio aggressivo, non avevo guardato le altre linee in Italia ed effettivamente le main non sono moltissime. Non consiglierei di revertare il changeset soprattuto perchè ho fatto altre modifiche oltre a questa, quindi quando avrò tempo provvederò a cambiarle di nuovo in branch. Ho cambiato da branch a main le linee empoli-siena e siena-chiusi data la loro importanza sul territorio della Toscana: compongono la Ferrovia Centrale Toscana e il traffico di treni è abbastanza elevato, tanto che il tratto Montallese-Chiusi è già raddoppiato ed elettrificato, mentre il tratto Empoli-Siena sta venendo raddoppiato ed elettrificato in questo momento. Infine la wiki specifica che i tratti "branch" sono solo dei collegamenti tra vari tratti "main" per collegare più città, mentre la Ferrovia Centrale Toscana è nata prima della ferrovia Firenze-Roma. Spero di aver chiarito i suoi dubbi, ricordo che questa è solo una mia interpretazione della wiki di OSM quindi ci sta che abbia sbagliato anche io
