| 103006844 | Additional comments from the creator of this changeset: 1) Trunk designation can not be justified based on form or function of this highway west of MN-41, where the divided highway ends. Elevation from secondary to primary is justified bu US road tagging guidelines, as MN-7 is the main connection from the Twin Cities to the manufacturing center of Hutchinson. 2) Per the wiki (Key:name): "Do not use name=* if... the feature is known by an address or reference number or code." 3) Per the wiki (Key:name): "Road names, especially highway names, may commemorate individuals. Depending on the region and specific case, the road name may appear prominently at every junction, or it may appear only once or twice at either end of the road, or there may be some other arrangement. In many regions, a motorway may be named but only the route number is signposted. Use the name=* tag if the name is suitable for general usage (such as for navigation); otherwise, use the official_name=* or alt_name=* tag. ". This roadway has an official name per Sec 161.14 MN Statutes ("The Theodore Christianson Memorial Drive"), but is not signed as such. Intersections in western Hennepin / eastern Carver use "State Hwy 7", "Hwy 7", or the shield symbol to indicate the roadway name. 4) Based on #2 and #3, existing name tags have been removed, and official_name tags have been added with the statutory name. |
