Changeset When Comment

OK I realized I deleted name:ja of way/456788679, I'm sorry about that, and restored it. As I said, It's part of what the JOSM reverter did.

Todays Dokdo vandal edits are more complicated than past ones years ago, often they are disguised as normal but include problamatic changes. I cannot just exclude "normal" additions from reverts. So I hope you do not judge users just based on number of deletes.

Hello,

I don't care and don't touch name:ja, like what I did against this edit. But often same vandal edits include deletions of Korean names and additions of name:ja and I should revert the whole edits. Do you think I should spend much energy to identify which is useful or not in vandal edits?

It's not about opinions and which side you support. Your edit is against OSM's on-the-ground rule.

welcome to the Dokdo vandalizing club. But name tag should be local name, by the on-the-ground rule, not wikidata name even if you really intended so.

This changeset is NOT addditions.
- This changeset splitted the coastlines and give Japanese given names.
- It added new points and adds "name" or "alt_name" values in Japannese. It is against the on-the-ground rule.
- Even these "official" names are far from real use. They were proposed by the Shimane Prefecture government and adopted and that proposition was an action against naming by Korean government.

Is this really a separate issue from the dispuute?

They look like power switches(개폐기) or power substations rather than doctors.

I moved the node to where the village chief lives as far as known. changeset/84943004

Thanks for your comments!

리(Ri) is the official administrative unit used in rural areas but drawing boundaries is not a trivial job. I guess these were mapped as nodes because it was difficult to tell exact boundaries in rural areas, as satelite imageries showed nothing and access was often limited. And using government sourced data is illegal.

Anyway I just reverted the node to the state before vandalism. I'm sure the vandalist deleted this node to remove Korean adminnistrative thing than "fixing" the wrong village node. :)

Hello. The useless node "독도리" (node/6144018982) refers the administrative unit "리" (which is from word "village" but not necessarily one village) which covers the islets. Lots of "리"'s in South Korea are mapped in this way (For example node/5426702271 in the middle of mountain) I have no idea whether it's the correct way to map or not.

이 편집 때문인 것 같은데 openstreetmap.org에서 서울의 주소가 명시적으로 표시된 경우 아니면 전부 오정구로 나오네요.
