1. Do some digging on old OSM Algeria archives, and the Facebook group.
2. Common sense. Tunisia has a higher francophone population than Algeria, yet uses only Arabic, and Algeria has only 2 official languages, Arabic and Berber. So it's astonishing finding a foreign language which is being phased out from all government channels.
3. Morocco. Morocco uses this format, so should Algeria.

Why have you renamed all the town names into French. The accepted standard in Algeria and Morocco is that all settlement names are in this format: FR/BER/AR, French, Berber and Arabic. I will be reporting your recent actions if you do not fix your vandalism.

Tunisia and Egypt has more tourists than Algeria yet they use Arabic. Latin will be used on third party websites anyways, so making it into Latin is pointless. And what about names of buildings and streets?

We do not need to use English, as most websites and apps that use OpenStreetMap already translate it.

India is much more diverse than India, and India cannot use Hindu as it is not used in many parts of the country. However in Algeria we can use Standard Fus'ha Arabic, just like Libya, Tunisia and Syria, which all have their own languages.

The compromise solution is use Arabic, like Tunisia, the official language since 1963.
