Hi Timmy_Tesseract, Thank you for pointing this out. I’ve now removed the extra ford tag from the way, as a ford node should be used for linear river features like this, according to the OSM Wiki (ford=*). Regarding the classification change, I do believe highway classifications should not drop at river fords, as the OSM Wiki (highway=*#Assumptions) also says classifications "do not imply anything about road quality, only importance and intended main use.” Because of this, I think the ford tag would be enough indication of the natural riverbed crossing. I like the idea of adding surface or smoothness tags, but I generally try to not add these as they’re hard to prove with just aerial imagery. I hope that reasoning makes sense and thanks again for catching the duplicate feature!
