Hello mmorec,

I see you have reclassified Avenida Regimiento 13 de Caballería and the other main roads in Toay to primary. I would like to point out that according to OSM policy(highway=primary), primary highways are meant for linking large towns or serving as major arterials in big cities, neither of which apply to the highways here. Additionally, major highways generally do not terminate onto highways on much lower classifications, such as at node/1319548749. If you agree, how would you feel about changing the classifications to tertiary or secondary?

Thank you and have a nice day.

Hello, my colleague AzuisRiver has addressed your comment on changeset/163435257 to keep the conversation in one thread, as it pertains to the same subject. Thanks!

Hello TXBG! I noticed that you added this restriction (relation/9823090) back after our team member removed it. I see that Mapillary (https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=676969414079915) shows contradicting traffic signals here, with both a “proceed straight" vertical road sign and “proceed straight or turn left” pavement markings. Additionally, this Mapillary from 2021 (https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=866030407425556) shows the road arrows more clearly from the direction of the opposing road.
Do you know if local traffic laws would prioritize the vertical road sign over the pavement markings, making this a straight only turn restriction? Or should a left turn be allowed here?
Happy mapping, Aralqum

Hi, welcome to OSM! I notice you are new to OSM and are using our organization’s # (osm.wiki/Organised_Editing/Activities/Apple). Organized editing hashtags are important to be used only by the members of the editing team associated with that organization so the larger community can effectively query for changesets of that team and provide feedback if needed (osm.wiki/Organised_Editing_Guidelines). Individual OSM contributors should not use other team’s hashtags for that reason. If you were attempting to ask a question with this changeset hashtag, a changeset comment is preferred. Here are some intros to commenting in OSM! (osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments#Why_should_I_use_Changeset_Comments?) If you are new to OSM here are some resources for how to best to map: https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/ and https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Using_OpenStreetMap. And here is more about OSM in general, such as how it is organized welcome.openstreetmap.org. Thanks for your considerations on all these points and happy mapping! Aralqum

Hi FajarAlim, thanks for reaching out! According to the OSM Wiki page for service roads (highway=service), this classification should be used “for access to a building, service station, beach, campsite, industrial estate, business park, etc.”. The first example on this OSM Wiki page details how Fuel Stations are to be modeled. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey KPull, Thanks for reaching out! Apple has an agreement with Digital Globe/Maxar to use their more recent imagery to edit OpenStreetMap, which isn’t publicly available for editing OpenStreetMap. Generally, we use the imagery that is already available in JOSM and in this case all the publicly available imageries suggested something blocking that residential road. However, I chose to cite the private imagery since it was the most up to date and the most clear. Let me know if you have any more questions! - Aralqum
