it is common, the lanes are phyiscally separated just inbetween the tollbooths, because the number of lanes per direction is changed in relation to the traffic flow. Therefor it needs free space in front of a toll station to be able to handle this.
Therefor, esp. the center lanes should not be mapped as oneway.
The solution now after Your interference is far from reality.

Hello Bolero, even in Sep 2026, I do not see a construction start between Valas and Grekesh. All press releases of ARRSH just write about the 9.9 km section between Kombinat Metalurgjik and Valas (see e. g. https://www.arrsh.gov.al/inspektim-punimesh-ne-aksin-elbasan-paper.html ). Hello MK1, I wonder Your arguments. Both carrigeways between Katlanovo and Veles are signed and classified as motorways by the ЈАВНО ПРЕТПРИЈАТИЕ ЗА ДРЖАВНИ ПАТИШТА (see https://roads.org.mk/en/road-network/). And they do have an emergencey lane each. The highest maximum speed of any highway in Northern Macedonia is 130 kmph and, of course, there is lots of sections with lower maxspeed in force. Like the motorway bypass of Skopje, which is maximum 120 kmph. With Your argument, it has to be mapped as trunk... It will be nice, if You accept to tag both sections of A1 as highway=motorway. Hello Rild Leka, please, take care, You are mapping lanes, carriageways and traffic islands as segregated, if there is solid constructions for separation. See area:highway=traffic%20island?uselang=de. If there is just painted areas like {{Wikipedia|en|Road surface marking||text=no}}, it is recommended NOT to tag it as segregated lanes/carriageways or traffic islands. Thanks. With regards, Anca

Hello Bolero, do You have a source they have added a footwalk in this section of the bike route? Streetviews from May do just show a bike track in both direction from the roundabout downhill to Rruga Perivolo and footwalk ending at the roundabout. Regards, Anna Catarina

I do use several aerials and street view (which in this case is very outdated) and -of course- trust the current mapping.
If the trains are already using the southern, the new track, why is it still mapped as "under construction"? Some locals are slow. ;-)
What is about the turning wye just north of that stop: are the really re-building this or is it abandaned and razed? I do not see any reason to have this newly built.

O.k., Dimitar, thanks for the precise example. Even the mentioned osm.wiki/File:Parking-street-side-with-areahighway.png does not show any linear features at all and therefor is not really comparable, I am going to avoid "glueing" street-side parkings to the road in BG in the future.

thanks. I am commonly separating areas and linears, even there is a lot to do with this to divide structures from old edits.
In cases of parking lots next to roads, esp. if it is street-side perpendicular, diagonal or parallel parking, it does make sense to "glue" it for navigation reasons.
Which precise situation where does make trouble?

thank You for the clearification on the legal situation.
I do not have any trouble to map a mixed system as a mixed system with tram tracks here and LRT tracks there (like Düsseldorf), if it is clear, which rules/laws are behind each section.
And I am always happy about informed discussions, not like "the train runs through a tunnel, therefore it's a metro."
